Union Fire District of South Kingstown Volunteers Take Part in Training with Boston MedFlight

SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Chief Steven Pinch and the Union Fire District of South Kingstown are pleased to announce that members recently had the opportunity to take part in special training through Boston MedFlight.

The training took place Wednesday, March 16, at the UFD training grounds.

Boston MedFlight is a nonprofit organization that provides transport services for patients in a variety of critical situations. Last week’s training covered multiple topics including incident response and procedures involving medical helicopters.

More than 40 members of the Union Fire District were on hand for the training, as were members of the South Kingston Police, South Kingston EMS, Kingston Fire District and members of the U.S. Navy Fire Department.

“A variety of training is critical for our members to take part in, and this was a great example of hands-on exercises that we often participate in along with our fellow South Kingstown first responders,” Chief Pinch said. “We thank Boston MedFlight for coming down and leading this important training.”
