The Kingston and Union Fire Districts, along with the town of South Kingstown, are offering scholarships worth $1,000 to $2,500 each for graduating high school seniors or current South Kingstown firefighters and their families. To be eligible, applicants must be graduating high school seniors from the class of 2024 or serving as SK firefighters. They must meet one of the following criteria: have a family connection to a current or life member of either fire district, be an active member of either fire district, or attend South Kingstown High School or the Prout School as a senior with career aspirations in Fire/Emergency Services. Required documents for application include the completed SK Firefighter Scholarship application, designation of the intended institution for higher education or training, and a high school transcript with first semester senior grades for 2024 graduates. The deadline for submission is May 5th at 10:00 PM.
