We are a 100% volunteer department and we are always looking for new members. Junior Membership at age 16 with Full Membership beginning at age 18. There are opportunities to volunteer on scheduled duty—day, night, and weekend shifts. Learn More

Fire Marshal

The purpose of the Union Fire District Fire Marshal's office is to diligently enforce fire safety regulations, conduct thorough inspections, and educate the community on preventive measures, ensuring a safer environment for all residents and businesses within the district. Learn More

Tax Collector

Learn more about the Union Fire District Tax office and what a fire tax entails. We are chartered by the State of Rhode Island to fund essential fire coverage for South Kingstown. Our separate fire tax bill covers equipment, training, safety inspections, and more for our volunteer fire service. Visit us at 131 Asa Pond Road to pay with cash, check, or credit card. Our Mission
The mission of the Union Fire District is to provide a range of fire related services designed to protect the lives and property of the residents of the Town of South Kingstown from the adverse effects of fires, emergencies and exposure to other dangerous conditions.

Our Vision
We are committed to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for all South Kingstown Citizens.

We dedicate ourselves to the safety of the community by providing the highest level of service and response to emergencies.
