The Peace Dale Volunteer Fire Department has been serving the Town and residents of South Kingstown as a volunteer fire company since it was originally chartered in 1867 and continues today. Originally chartered as the Narragansett Steam Fire Engine Company #1 of Peace Dale, the department has a rich history of service to the town.
Engine 10 is one of the busiest fire apparatus in the town of South Kingstown responding to all calls for possible fires, fire alarms and other common calls. E-10 is a Smeal Class A pumper with a 750 gallon water tank.
Special Hazards 1 is a 2020 Rescue 1 Heavy Rescue that was custom designed by the Union Fire District for our department. SH1 responds to motor vehicle accidents as well as any reported fires in the town of South Kingstown.
Unit 1 is a Ford F-350 pickup with a slide out rear bed for equipment storage. U1 is our primary vehicle to respond to medical calls as we are often requested to assist South Kingstown Emergency Medical Services to lift or carry patients or provide extra hands on complicated medical calls. Unit 1 is also an extra personnel carrier to respond to calls throughout town.
