Chief Steven Pinch of the Union Fire District and Chief Thomas Reed of the Kingston Fire District invited residents to the annual Firefighters Memorial Service. The event took place on Sunday, Sept. 22, at South Kingstown Firefighters Memorial Square. The ceremony began at noon and brought together firefighters, local officials, and community members to honor those who died in the line of duty.
The service paid tribute to William E. Gray, Byron H. Love, and Allan P. LePage. It also allowed the community to thank current firefighters for their service. “We are proud to continue this tradition of honoring our fallen heroes and those who serve our community today,” said Chief Pinch. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported the event.
