Union Fire District Mourns Passing of Former Chief Andre Boisvert

SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Chief Steven Pinch and the Union Fire District of South Kingstown regretfully announce the passing of former Chief Andre “Andy” Boisvert.

Chief Boisvert, of Wakefield, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4. He was a native of South Kingstown.

Chief Boisvert joined the Peace Dale Fire Department in 1970, and held the ranks of Lieutenant and Captain. 

As a member of the Union Fire District he served as Deputy Chief, Chief (from 1993 to 2005), and was most recently a member of the UFD Board of Wardens since 2006. 

“We offer our sincere condolences to Chief Boisvert’s family on his passing,” Chief Pinch said. “Andy had a long and distinguished career in the fire service and was passionate about serving and protecting his community for his entire life.”

Funeral services will be held for Chief Boisvert on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
