SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Chief Steven Pinch and the Union Fire District of South Kingstown are pleased to welcome Tyler Beauchemin as the UFD’s newest full member.
Beauchemin was sworn in by Deputy Chief Thomas Bradley on Wednesday, Jan. 26 after completing his probationary training.
Beauchemin is a 26-year-old resident of South Kingstown, who has recently moved to town. He heard about the Union Fire District from his girlfriend, who is a UFD member, as well as her father Dennis Bernier, who is UFD’s assistant fire marshal.
“Being new to South Kingstown I wanted to join the Union Fire District to help out my community however I could,” Beauchemin said. “As a new full member of the department I am looking forward to working with my fellow volunteers to keep our residents safe.”
Beauchemin served in the fire service for three years in Lincoln, and has Fire 1, Fire 2 and hazmat operation certification.
