SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Chief Steven Pinch reports that the Union Fire District of South Kingstown extinguished a fire in town this past weekend.
At approximately 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, members of the Union Fire District responded to a call for a basement fire at a home in the Green Hill section of town on Shepherd Drive.
The first arriving crew from Engine 21 made a quick knock down of the fire to limit the amount of damage to the house.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
Members of the Charlestown Fire District and Kingston Fire District also responded, along with the South Kingstown Police Department and South Kingstown EMS.
“I want to thank each of the responding agencies for assisting in this incident and making sure the fire was contained and no residents were injured,” Chief Pinch said.
The fire is currently being investigated by the office of the Rhode Island State Fire Marshal.
