SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Chief Steven Pinch and the Union Fire District of South Kingstown are pleased to invite the community to a drive-thru trunk-or-treat event this Halloween.
On Saturday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. at the South Kingstown Safety Complex, 1790 Kingstown Road, first responders will be greeting trick-or-treaters and their families at the parking lot of the complex.
There will be decorated vehicle trunks at the complex, and participants will be able to grab some candy bags and other Halloween treats. Visitors are asked to enter through the Kingstown Road entrance and exit onto Curtis Corner Road.
Children with allergies will be accommodated, and those needing special accommodations should look for the teal-colored pumpkins.
In keeping with COVID-19 protocols, proper safety measures will be followed and markers will be put in place to maintain social distancing at all times. Proper face masks will be required, and while Halloween masks are not suitable alternatives to face masks, attendees are also encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes.
The event is being co-hosted by the Union Fire District, the South Kingstown Police Department and the South Kingstown EMS.
“This Halloween will look a lot different for everyone, but we encourage all children and their families to come by the South Kingstown Safety Complex this Halloween to get some treats and see what other costumes people have come up with this year,” Chief Pinch said. “As always, the Union Fire District wishes everyone a safe, healthy and happy Halloween.”
