The volunteers of the Union Fire District responded to approximately 900 calls for service during 2016. The firefighters did an outstanding job during the year dealing with many different types of emergencies.

The number of recruits applying has decreased in recent years. The District is looking at new ways to recruit and retain our firefighters. Our existing members are continuing to train and remain ready to respond to any emergency situation.

We received delivery of two new vehicles in 2016, a Ford F350 Utility vehicle and a Ford F150 Deputy Chiefs vehicle. The District is in the process of building a new maintenance facility and plans are in the works to renovate station 6.

The key to keeping our volunteer fire department strong is to keep recruiting. Volunteers are always needed. If you think you could help, please go to and apply today.

It takes a lot of dedication and time to meet the demands of being a volunteer firefighter. I want thank all the Deputies, Officers, Firefighters, District Staff, auxiliary members, and family members for their outstanding commitment to the District.

Steven Pinch, Chief
Union Fire District
